Robotics Technology Trip

Robotics workshops are an ideal way to captivate young minds and stimulate critical thinking. We are happy to arrange robotics workshops for groups, such as conventional school groups, or scout groups.  All Storming Robots enrichment programs are tailored to the specified grade level and time frame.

Key Activities

• We present grade-appropriate engineering concepts — either conceptual or applied.
• Students engage in rudimentary robotics exploration activities with LEGO Mindstorms robotics components.
• Grades 4 to 6 learn programming commands through a highly encapsulated and intuitive graphics user interface.
• Grades 7 and up learn to program with the text-based ROBOTC (a C-like programming language).
• Motivational contests spark interest.
• Students work cooperatively in teams to develop and carry out plans, troubleshooting problems as they arise.

Enrichment Benefits of Robotics Education

• Increase awareness to the intricate, but ubiquitous applications of robotics.
• Inspires students to pursue interests Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in high school.
• Strengthens competency in STEM subjects.
• Offers opportunities to participate in  Regional and State robotic competition.
• Leads to increased parent, community, and local business awareness and interest in robotics technology.

Typical Schedule

Majority of the groups are interested in 2-hr slot. Your may schedule up to 5 hrhr While we shall try to arrange a timeframe suitable for your group, the following shows our typical schedule:

  • 10 to 4 PM on Tuesdays to Fridays from October to May.  OR
  • 10 to 5 PM on Saturdays in July and August

Under our insurance guidelines, we request that at least one staff member from the participating school group be present during the workshop. This representative does not need to provide any technical assistance.
